Skinny Legs and Cowgirls is “a sort of bistro”, according to Amy and Susan Kellock. The tiny, six-table room is always packed full of hip diners in the mood for fresh, local organic fare prepared by Susan and served by Amy. The restaurant has earned awards and glowing reviews from every media outlet in the city and several national publications for good reason: the place, people and food are exquisite.
The name was inspired by two Tom Robbins novels, as the mother-daughter team tried to infuse their little bistro with his style of melding metaphors and painting images with words. His eclectic and humanitarian art inspired them to devise a bistro that shopped local, demanded fair trade and used an environmentally sustainable approach.
If you are lucky enough to get a reservation at Skinny Legs, ask for whatever the chef is preparing special for the night: you won’t be disappointed. Just make sure you have an early reservation—this place is so hot it sizzles.
